Instant messaging app WhatsApp brings new updates for its users every day. Recently, the company has added new updates for Channel and Status. Now the company is working on the Remind feature these days. This is going to be very useful for every user. With its help, people will be able to set reminders for their important messages. Currently, this feature is available only for beta testers. Those people can experience this feature. Let's know how the new feature will work.
What is the name of the feature?
The name of this feature is 'Notification reminders for chat messages', but you will see it on WhatsApp as 'Remind'. The new feature will work like scheduling the message. If you have to revisit any message, or a message is very important, then you can set a reminder for it for the time when you want to see it or remember something. It will highlight it at that time or send you a notification.
Where will the new feature be seen?
It can be seen in the screenshot shared by WABetainfo that you will see the option of Remind in chats. If you open anyone's chat, you will see 3 dots in the right corner, where Remind Me will be written with a Bell Icon. If you click on it, you will get 4 options: 'In 2 Hours', 'In 8 Hours', 'In 24 Hours', and Custom.
As soon as you set it, a notification will come on your notification panel. Where it will be written 'Reminder'.
These two features are also going to be entered.
Ads in Status: Will be able to post sponsored content
According to WABetainfo, these features are now available to some selected beta users on Android. Status ads are similar to the ads that appear on Instagram Stories. Business accounts can now post sponsored content, which will appear in the status feed of users.
If you don't want to see ads, do this
These ads will appear between updates from friends and family, but they will have a clear sponsored label, so users can easily distinguish them from personal posts. WhatsApp is also giving users control over what they want to see. If a user does not want to see ads from a particular advertiser, he can block them. By doing this, the user will not see this ad again.
Channel can be promoted.
The second feature, Promoted Channels, will help public channels become more visible in WhatsApp's channel directory. Like status ads, these promoted channels will be marked as 'sponsored'. When a business or creator pays to promote their channel, it will appear at the top of search results, making it easier for users to find and follow it.
For whom is the new change?
These changes can be useful for brands, creators, and organizations who want to increase their audience rapidly. This also marks WhatsApp's entry into the world of advertising and creator monetization, which is already present on platforms like Instagram and YouTube.
