Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday reiterated India’s firm stand against terrorism at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin, calling for united global action and rejecting any double standards on the issue.
“Terrorism, separatism and castism are three problems facing nations globally at the moment,” Modi said, stressing that the SCO must serve as a platform to strengthen collective security. He reiterated that India has consistently spoken out against the funding of terror networks.
“India has raised voice against terror financing,” the Prime Minister said. “We must unanimously denounce terrorism.”
Laying out India’s vision for the regional grouping, Modi said New Delhi’s engagement is guided by three principles. “India's perspective and diplomacy on SCO are based on three principles: SCO, Security-connectivity and opportunity,” he told leaders.
