Dindigul: A disturbing incident has come to light from Tamil Nadu’s Dindigul, a man riding his motorbike at night in the dark fell onto an unfinished underpass. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced.
The incident occurred at Gujiliyamparai at around 19:40 on Monday, where construction of an underpass beneath a railway track has reportedly been ongoing for the past two years. According to locals, the worksite has been a obstacle for commuters as it lacks adequate safety measures, according to India Today. The video footage shows the bike speeding toward the area and plunging into the underpass. Moments later, locals can be seen rushing to the spot to help.

Mathiyazhagan, a resident of Nathampatti, was riding through the area, unaware of the ongoing construction work. Due to the lack of reflective tape and proper safety signage, the site was nearly invisible in the glare of his bike’s headlights. He inadvertently rode over a mound of soil and fell into the pit along with his vehicle.
Rushed To Hospital
Fellow commuters quickly came to his rescue and pulled him out of the underpass. He was later taken to the District Government Hospital for treatment.
