Rishikesh: A video capturing the courageous actions of a German Shepherd shows the pet dog protecting a group of children from a stray dog.
The CCTV footage, reportedly from a residential neighbourhood in Rishikesh, shows a German Shepherd sitting calmly inside a house's balcony, watching the street below.
The video then shows, a group of children running past, followed by a stray dog, prompting the German Shepherd to suddenly become alert. The dog jumps off the balcony and rushes towards the stray, chasing it away to protect the children.

Supreme Court Order On Stray Dogs In Delhi
The video has gone viral just days after the Supreme Court's order on August 11 by a bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and R Mahadevan, which described an “extremely grim” situation caused by stray dog bites leading to rabies, particularly among children.
