Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Heavy rains continued in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday as well. More than 25 districts including Gwalior, Bhopal, Indore received rain. Gwalior received the highest rainfall of 2.3 inches. Rivers and streams are overflowing due to heavy rains for the last one week. Such a situation was not there on Tuesday, but the system is getting stronger again from Wednesday. Today, there is an alert of very heavy or heavy rain in 18 districts.
Earlier on Tuesday, Gwalior received 2.3 inches of rain in 9 hours. One and a half inches of water fell in Khargone, 1 inch in Sidhi and more than half an inch in Umaria. Heavy rains also occurred in Shajapur and Raisen.
Light rain was recorded in many districts including Bhopal, Datia, Indore, Narmadapuram, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Mandla, Sagar, Seoni, Balaghat, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Sehore, Agar-Malwa, Dewas. However, there is no news of any death due to rain or rain-related accidents in the last 24 hours.

The districts of Indore and Ujjain division are lagging behind.
Among the 5 big cities, Bhopal has received 14.5 inches of rain, Indore has received 7 inches, Gwalior has received 18.5 inches, Jabalpur has received 21.6 inches and Ujjain has received 8 inches of rain. On the other hand, Tikamgarh has received 91% (33 inches), Chhatarpur has received 75% (28 inches), Shivpuri has received 82% (25.3 inches) and Mandla has received 75% (35 inches) of rain.

The rainfall situation is better in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh like Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol and Sagar divisions. 86 percent more rain than the average has fallen in the districts of these divisions.
On the other hand, 57 percent more rain than the average has fallen in the western part like Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Chambal and Narmadapuram. Among these, the situation of Indore and Ujjain divisions is not good. Out of a total of 15 districts, there are 10 such where the rainfall figure has not even reached 10 inches.
Monsoon trough passing through the upper part
According to meteorological department, a monsoon trough is currently passing through the upper part of the state. Due to this, a warning of very heavy and heavy rain has been issued from Wednesday. Due to the activation of low pressure area near the state, a period of heavy rain will start again. There is an alert of heavy rain for the next 4 days.
