Navi Mumbai: The Koparkhairane Police have solved two chain-snatching cases in their jurisdiction with the arrest of one accused and recovery of stolen property worth Rs 5 lakh. The second accused, Rehan Khan, is absconding, and police have launched a search for him.
Arrested Accused Identified as Ritik alias Raj Govind More, Resident of Ghansoli
Over the past few months, incidents of chain-snatching had been on the rise in the Koparkhairane Police Station limits. Acting on this, the police began tracking the culprits. Based on a tip-off, they detained Ritik alias Raj Govind More (26), a resident of Gulmohar Building in Ghansoli Sector-16, along with a motorcycle.
Police Recover Gold Ornaments and Motorcycle Worth Rs 5 Lakh
During interrogation, More confessed to committing the offences along with his accomplice Rehan Khan. Police subsequently recovered a gold mangalsutra (3 grams), a gold chain (8 grams), and a motorcycle, collectively valued at Rs 5 lakh.

The accused have been linked to two chain-snatching cases in the Koparkhairane jurisdiction. Records show that More has 11 prior cases registered against him at police stations in Vashi, Cuffe Parade (Mumbai), Nehrunagar, CBD, CID Branch, NRI Coastal, and Tilaknagar.
Senior Police Inspector Audumbar Patil confirmed that the search for absconding accused Rehan Khan is ongoing.
