Thane: The ambitious second Station Area Traffic Improvement Scheme (SATIS) project under Thane's Smart City initiative (E) will be finished by the end of September, as shared by Shiv Sena (UBT) former MP Rajan Vichare after speaking with municipal officials.
The installation of five girders, each measuring 4.5 metres for the flyover, a crucial link between the city's East and West sides, has been finished, and the 2.2 km elevated road above the tracks is almost complete. "This will soon aid in alleviating traffic congestion near Thane (E) station," Vichare stated after visiting the project site with officials earlier this week.

Officials stated that while the raised section of the SATIS-2 will finish in the coming two months, using the road will require additional months since the construction on the elevated bus platform on the east station side is still not done. Progress continues on building the deck, and we have aimed for the end of December as the opening date.
The SATIS-2 project cannot become operational unless the deck is finished and linked to the elevated roads along with the railway bridges at the station. "Once operational, it will cut down the travel time from Teen Haath Naka to Thane station east to just five minutes," stated a civic official according Times Of India.

The SATIS-2 deck's foundation stone was set on February 19, 2022, and construction has been advancing in stages. A budget of Rs 298 crore was approved— Rs 261 crore for the project and Rs 39 crore for the segment of the bridge that spans the railway tracks. Approximately 59 pillars have been constructed along this route, but the placement of girders has been postponed because of insufficient coordination with the railways to secure mega blocks, stated Vichare
