Vanessa Hudgens has announced that she's expecting her second child with her husband, Cole Tucker. The actor showcased her growing bump in a series of photos that she shared as part of the pregnancy announcement.
High School Musical star Vanessa, 36, and retired baseball player Cole, 29, are already parents to a one-year-old, whose name has not been publicly revealed, together. The couple announced in a joint post on Instagram today that they are expecting another baby together, teasing: "Round two".
The post included photos of Vanessa showing her baby bump. The actor is seen wearing a white blouse, which was unbuttoned and open at the bottom to reveal her baby bump, and a matching skirt. Cole is seen by her side in the photos, with him wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.
The post has amassed more than 700,000 likes since it was uploaded this evening. A host of celebrities took to the comments section with well wishes for Vanessa and her husband, including some of her former co-stars.
Julianne Hough, who starred in Grease Live! (2016) with her, wrote: "Oh. My. Yessssss congratulations beauties." Ashley Benson, who was among her co-stars on Spring Breakers (2012), reacted with several heart-eyed emojis instead.
Ana Villafañe, who was in a theatre production of In the Heights with Vanessa in 2018, wrote: "Chills mama." Whilst Alexandra Shipp, who starred alongside her in Tick, Tick... Boom! (2021), posted hearts as her response to the announcement.
Vanessa was first romantically linked to Cole, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for teams such as the Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Angels in his career, in 2020. She announced their engagement three years later.
The couple got married that same year, having tied the knot in a ceremony held in December 2023. Vanessa and Cole exchanged vows in a destination wedding in Mexico.
They went on to welcome their first child last summer. The couple had been spotted leaving hospital with their newborn baby at the time, with Vanessa later confirming their baby's arrival but expressing privacy concerns.
As reported at the time, she wrote in a post on Instagram: "We're disappointed that our family's privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time. Despite all of that, mom dad and baby are happy and healthy."
Reflecting on parenthood earlier this year, she told fans in a post marking Mother's Day in May that becoming a mother has been the "exhausting" but also "joyous". She wrote just eight weeks ago: "Becoming a mother has been the hardest, most exhausting but also incredibly fulfilling and joyous chapter of my life. I couldn't be more grateful for my little family."
Vanessa continued by writing at the time: "Happy Mother's Day to all who've done their time or are in the grind. The power mamas hold is truly supernatural and I admire us all."
