The legendary TV soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is all set to return with its much-anticipated second season — 25 years after it first aired. Known as one of the most successful and culturally significant shows on Indian television, it has left an enduring legacy, watched across generations in households across the country.
As excitement builds for its return, filmmaker Karan Johar shared the promo of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 on his Instagram story, calling the show a turning point in Indian television. “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi – One show. Many generations. Countless memories. Personally, a show that changed the face of Indian television and all the credit goes to Ekta Kapoor!!!” he wrote.
He also urged fans to tune in for the new season, airing from 29th July at 10:30 PM on Star Plus.
Originally launched in 2000, the show ran until 2008 and became a household name. The story revolved around Tulsi, a principled and devoted daughter-in-law, who marries into the powerful Virani family. The show not only made Tulsi a cultural icon but also marked a milestone for Ekta Kapoor’s production house, Balaji Telefilms. Following its massive success, she went on to create other hit serials like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Kasautii Zindagii Kay.
With the revival of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the nostalgia is back — and so is Ekta Kapoor’s magic.
