A 2-year-old Georgia boy was fatally attacked by two "large" Rottweilers under the care of an allegedly unlicensed nursery.
The boy, identified as Kaimir Jones, was found dead by first responders - including police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel - after receiving a call about a dog attack at a residence in the 3800 block of Pecan Drive in Valdosta, according to a news statement from the Valdosta Police Department.
Police claim the boy was left by his mother for the day with Stacy Wheeler Cobb, 48, who was running an allegedly unlicensed daycare at her home during the horrific incident.

Cobb told police that she was taking a nap and "thought the child was well" when the dogs mauled the boy.
Authorities believe the boy was left unattended for at least two hours when he went into the backyard and opened a kennel where "two large Rottweiler dogs" were residing. After getting into the kennel, the boy was fatally attacked, police believe.

"This is a horrible and tragic event that should have never occurred, but because of negligence on this offender's behalf, a mother has tragically lost a child," said Chief Leslie Manahan in the news release. "I want to express our department's deepest sympathy to the family.
"No words will ever ease their pain, but our hearts go out to them during this unimaginably difficult time," she continued. "I also keep our first responders in my prayers, as they continue processing their response to this tragic scene."
Cobb was arrested and charged with murder in the second degree and cruelty to children in the second degree, though police hinted that more charges would likely be added once evidence is processed. She has been booked into Lowndes County Jail.
The two dogs, as well as a third dog in the home, were taken into the custody of Lowndes County Animal Control Officers.

The boy's mother has launched a GoFundMe campaign, which has raised nearly $16,000 (approximately £12,000) at the time of this press release.
In the fundraiser post description, she wrote that she had an "intuition" on the day of the incident to leave work early. Once she arrived at the home, the police had already discovered her son's dead body.
"This was a heartbreaking, devastating and traumatising scene that I wouldn't wish on anyone," she wrote.
"I did not have any life insurance for my 2-year-old son, so I am asking the community for help with raising funds for his memorial funeral," she concluded. "Anything will help and anything is appreciated. Thank you."
