Death in Paradise star Ben Miller has shared his daughter's brutal reaction to his role in a major movie franchise.
The actor, who appeared in the Paddington films, previously reprised his role as Colonel Lancaster from the second film but only featured in the first five minutes of the latest movie.
Appearing on James Martin's Saturday Morning yesterday (October 25), Ben chatted about his latest venture as he is set to launch his debut adult novel.
However, talk soon turned to his TV work and host James couldn't help but mention the hilarious moment his daughter shared her reaction to his appearance in Paddington.
James pointed out: "I believe they (Ben's children) can be quite brutal in terms of your career. I believe you were in Paddington - it doesn't matter how old you are, to be in Paddington it's quite cool."
Ben replied: "I am in Paddington two but in Paddington three I basically just have one line. I'm in it at the very beginning of the film but I'm very important because I gave Paddington an umbrella that he uses in the rest of the movie."
He's referring to an umbrella that his character gives Paddington which ends up getting him out of multiple scrapes throughout the film, including being used in conjunction with a marmalade sandwich to convince a llama to let him ride.
The actor then recalled: "But arguably it's not the world's biggest part and I thought my daughter was going to be so excited because we would go to the Paddington premier.
"But when the film came on, I'm sort of on the very first five minutes and my daughter turned to me in a very low voice and said, 'Daddy...' I said, 'Yes...'"
Not holding back, Ben's daughter shared her honest opinion on his stint as he continued: "She said, 'Is that it?'"
James burst out laughing as Ben added: 'I'm there trying to justify the whole thing to her.
"'But the umbrella is really important so keep watching!'
"It's wonderful the way kids have the honesty of cutting you down."
Elsewhere Ben touched on his upcoming novel, which is worlds away from the children's books he has already released, such as The Night I Met Father Christmas and How I Became a Dog called Midnight.
He said: "I'm working on a story for grown ups. After writing for children for a long time, I thought I'd try my hand at a story for grown ups and I'm kind of getting there."
James Martin's Saturday Morning returns next Saturday at 9.30am on ITV1 and ITVX.
