The last day of summer is here, which means it's officially time to get excited for cosy season. And for those already dreaming of blankets, candles and hot drinks, Dunelm has just dropped something that could become a new autumn essential.
The homeware retailer has unveiled itsTeddy Electric Throw, and shoppers can't get enough of it. It combines a luxuriously soft teddy fleece texture with built-in heating, promising instant warmth at the push of a button.
The blanket features adjustable heat settings, so users can find the perfect temperature, while its generous 278cm cable gives plenty of reach without being tethered to the nearest socket. It's machine washable, too, meaning it can be kept fresh and fluffy throughout the winter.
Available in five colours, the throw comes in multiple sizes, with prices ranging from £40 to £75. It's proving popular though, with some shades and sizes already selling out fast. With that in mind, it might be worth snapping one up before the cold weather really sets in.
For those keen to explore other options, there are plenty more ways to stay cosy this autumn. Silentnight's Heat Genie Self-Heating Mattress Topper (£37.99, Boots) has been lauded for its ability to 'keep you warm as toast all night' and its 'easy to fit' nature.
Another alternative could be to wrap up in a blanket hoodie. Oodie has reduced its original Grey Oodie by £30 in a quick sale ahead of the autumn cold.
Back to Dunelm's Teddy Electric Throw, it has gained some great reviews from shoppers. One person said: "Brilliant heated throw. So cosy, an absolute lifesaver for my wife coming home from the hospital, particularly while enduring the savage beast from the east! Definitely earned five stars."
Meanwhile, someone else piped up: "My elderly Dad loved receiving this for Xmas - soft and cosy as a blanket alone and warms him up. It doesn't get to top heat as branded heated throws that I have at home but I never use them at the full temp anyway. This throw is just as good at half the price and far softer."
However, it isn't all good news. This disappointed buyer complained: "Unfortunately, having read good reviews, I purchased this blanket and on getting it home found it wouldn't switch on at all. Sadly, I had to return it. Decided not to risk another replacement."
On a more positive note, this happy Teddy Electric Throw fan had a better experience: "I bought this blanket to keep me warm when I work from home. It's really effective and heats up quickly. It's even warm without being switched on. The only reason I have docked a star is that it does shed a little bit, but that doesn't get in the way of it still being a good product."
