Marseille forward Mason Greenwood was caught up in a fiery tussle with two Aston Villa stars during a pre-season friendly on Saturday. The fracas erupted after Greenwood put in a late tackle and chopped down Amadou Onana from behind.

Onana sprang straight back to his feet and began butting chests with Greenwood while Mings, watching on from close quarters, picked up the ball and began making his way towards the altercation. Mings immediately moved in front of Onana, grabbed Greenwood by the collar of his shirt and swung him around as other players from both sides began piling in.

When the dust settled, the collar area of Greenwood's blue Marseille jersey was completely torn up, and a replacement shirt had to be brought on. It wasn't the first time one had left the other red-faced in a fiery friendly clash at the Stade Velodrome.

Because in the first five minutes of the game, a long ball was played over the top which Mings should have intercepted, but Greenwood nipped in ahead of him, rounded the goalkeeper and tapped into an empty net to give Marseille the lead.

There were two more goals courtesy of another familiar face to English football fans, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bagging a brace in a 3-1 win for the hosts.

And tensions remained high after the final whistle, with things getting heated between Villa boss Unai Emery and his Marseille counterpart, ex-Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi.
