PGA Tour star Min Woo Lee has played down rumours linking him with a move to LIV Golf amid persistent speculation. The Australian has been strongly tipped to make the switch to the Saudi-backed breakaway circuit.
LIV Golf is presently in its off-season, which is typically when the league seeks to bring in fresh talent for the upcoming campaign. The 2026 season is set to kick off in March, potentially welcoming several new additions.
Lee has been rumoured to be signing with LIV ahead of the 2026 season. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old has dismissed such claims, confirming that he intends to stay on the PGA Tour for the time being, reports The Mirror.
"There's been a lot of rumours. I'm not going and am just going to play on the PGA Tour," Lee told AAP. "So I'm happy with where I'm at and, yeah, I'm looking forward to next year."
Lee became a PGA Tour member in 2024 and secured his maiden victory on the circuit in March at the Houston Open before placing 49th at the Masters a few weeks later. However, Lee failed to make the cut at the US Open, PGA Championship and the Open in subsequent months.
Since becoming a PGA Tour member last year, Lee has accumulated approximately $9million (£6.9million) and his recent statement confirms that he plans to remain on the tour next year.
Despite claiming his first PGA Tour title earlier this year, Lee acknowledged areas requiring improvement ahead of next year, with the major championships firmly in his sights.
"It was great to have the win but it's tough because there's not much time to actually regroup and think about it," Lee said. You're on a high for a whole and two weeks later it was the Masters. So I felt like it went quick.
"All the Signature events started coming up and, yeah, the win was amazing but the other part of the year was pretty average. So that was something I had to work on."
Lee's comments come just days after LIV Golf revealed significant changes for the upcoming season. The Saudi-backed circuit, financed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has confirmed it will be moving from 54-hole tournaments to 72-hole competitions from next season.
Despite having the number '54' incorporated into their logo in Roman numerals, LIV Golf has announced the modifications will take effect for the 2026 campaign, bringing the league into alignment with the traditional format used by both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
Stars including Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson are amongst the players who have recently commented on the confirmed changes by LIV.
