A man who died 10 days after being allegedly attacked at a charity event has been hailed as the "most wonderful dad" by his grieving wife. Jack Oliver Frogell, known as Olly, was attending a private charity event at Hemel Hempstead Town FC when he was assaulted in the early hours of the morning.
Hertfordshire Police say the 48-year-old was assaulted in an "altercation" that happened on Saturday, October 25, at the club. He was then taken to the hospital, where he died three days later. In a tribute to her husband, Olly's wife Lisa said: "Our beloved Olly, loved by so many, he was truly the most wonderful Dad and loving husband, but also the heart of our community. This has left us with a huge void in our lives that can never be filled."
A day after the attack, a man was arrested in connection with the assault, but officers are now appealing for more information and for anyone at the event to come forward and speak to them.
In a statement posted online, Detective Inspector Caeva Taylor, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "Our thoughts are with Olly's family at this very difficult time.
"We are urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken with the police to please come forward and help.
"We want to find out exactly what happened in the lead up to the assault. If you have any information, or witnessed what happened, please get in touch with us.
"If you attended the event, but did not see the assault, you may still be able to help. Please get in touch as you could have useful information."
Officers also warned of some footage of the assault circulating online, but have warned that sharing the video could "jeopardise the investigation.
DI Taylor added: "I would also like to add that we are aware of footage of the incident circulating and we would ask that people do not share this any further as to do so could jeopardise any future criminal proceedings."
