NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a high-level meeting in Parliament, likely regarding the ongoing Monsoon session.
Several senior BJP leaders , including Amit Shah , JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Nirmala Sitharaman , Kiren Rijiju, and Arjun Meghwal, marked their presence in the meeting.
"The meeting likely discussed and made decisions regarding the Parliament session," according to news agency ANI.
Sources said that PM Modi was apprised about the discussions in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) and the opposition's insistence on his making a statement in the House.
"The PM was also briefed about the opposition's ruckus, particularly their demand for his availability to speak on the issue of 'Operation Sindoor'," ANI said, quoting sources.
The Monsoon session commenced on Monday and will continue till August 21, with a break from August 12 to August 18. A total of 21 sittings across 32 days will be there.
In his customary remarks before the session's start, PM Modi said, "This Monsoon session is a very proud session for the country. It is like a ' Vijay Utsav ' (celebration of victory) for the nation. The world witnessed the capability of armed forces. They achieved their targets 100 per cent."
