A passenger on a recent flight shocked cabin crew and social media users by clipping their toenails mid-air and then leaving the clippings on the floor for the crew to clean up.
The incident was shared by flight attendant Leanna Coy on TikTok. In the video, she showed a few of the discarded nail pieces lying on the carpet of the aircraft and wrote, “Those are toenails. The passenger clipped their toenails mid-flight and left them.”
Coy’s post included a trigger warning for viewers and was set to a viral Jet2 holiday jingle, often used in clips showing bad passenger behaviour.
The act has drawn strong reactions online. “Straight to jail,” one user commented. Another said the person should be put on a “no fly list.” One viewer added, “The poor people sitting next to them.”
Coy, who has previously criticised in-flight habits like ordering decaf coffee and last-minute seat switching, didn’t name the passenger. When asked if she knew who it was, she replied, “Wasn’t me!”
A similar incident came to light in February this year. The Mirror reported an instagram post showing a mother cutting her toddler's toenails in their seats on a plane.
